There’s a saying about aging: Getting old is not for the faint of heart. We face many challenges as we age – physical, mental, and spiritual. Making the most of the time we have remaining can be a challenge, but it also can be exciting and rewarding.

In this three-part class we will explore Jewish wisdom on aging, discuss hopes and fears about the future, and create spiritual mission statements as we seek to make the most of the gift of aging.

The liberal Yeshiva open book Jewish Learning

Our Story

The Liberal Yeshiva was established by Larry Deutsch z’l in 2010. He wanted to create something that would meet the needs of Jewish adults who might not have been given a Jewish education but really want to learn.

After his death, his friend Marden Paru z’l took over the Yeshiva and grew it into a popular place to learn about a variety of Jewish topics. At Marden’s death in 2021, the Yeshiva lay fallow until Rabbi Jennifer Singer took over as dean and primary educator in 2022 to further serve the mission of Jewish learning.
